In my podcast debut, I’m joined by the witty and talented Lirpa Strike. We discuss being Midwest expats, the vice presidential debates, authenticity in politics, the occupy movement vs the DSA, the utility of right vs left politics, labor, feminism, learning to become comfortable with traditionalism and much, much more.
Very grateful that Lirpa brought up that case of feds talking Occupy people into blowing up a bridge. Was trying to hunt around for examples of that phenomenon just the other day & came up dry.
Cheers to some great timing and a future of more quality pod content 🥂
Just got to the part when you said “Would you still love me if I was in your ex’s body?” Soooo funny and on point regarding how all discourse between men/women mimics this incessant hypothetical line of reasoning. Probably just a throwaway line for you but it hits the nail on the head.
One of the best examples of distributism I've seen was a few years ago on a trip to Cuba. We visited a small company called NostalgiCar that maintains old cars and runs tours. We got a nice lecture from the owner about how he started the company due to a economic thaw, and got to visit the White House!
Basically, he was happy to provide good jobs for some Cubans, get them good housing, etc. That was the goal--make a good living for him and his people. Owning say, 20 Chevy dealers island-wide? When he was asked he made a face. No, he was good building his small business and keeping it going. He didn't want to build and empire and get all the headaches that entailed, even if Cuba allowed it.
I just started learning how to surfcast. You guys truly are expressing something deep within me that I know prob 50 apolitical men and women grappling with. Let's fish together!
I’m aroused by this podcast. Will be listening later or tomorrow. Probably naked.
Thank you Laggy, very cool!

Worth listening to for the intro music alone
Thanks! I actually wrote, played and recorded it myself!
It’s seductive to say the least, actually set the tone and put me in the mood for the podcast, I’m listening incrementally.
